Our country’s motto is “In God We Trust.” America is a mighty nation. Perhaps our secondary motto would be “Peace Through Strength.” It is obvious that a country with weapons and military might at its disposal can enforce this secondary motto. Sadly, some nations feel that a show of strength means that they must get their neighbor before their neighbor gets them. Or else they feel that they are entitled to display strength and ability by any means they deem necessary, even though it may be unrighteous. True strength does not need to flex its muscles. True strength will emanate a sense of might without having to physically react to any and all provocations that come its way. The greatest test of true strength is knowing that one has it and restraining oneself from making a show of it. The Savior was the greatest example of this. He had the power to call upon the hosts of heaven to defend and protect Him, but He didn’t. Instead, He submitted Himself to life’s circumstances as outlined in the Father’s plan.
